Curves in many ways are vectors or lines and can pull the eye in. They can be used to organise the composition of an image. The objective of this exercise was to take four images that use curves to show movement.
The first image of a girl reflected in the mirror. It was at a market in Ventimiglia in Italy. There were some unusual objects and the idea was to bring attention to them. I believe the curves found on the bike wheels and the wash basin bring your eye around the image it creates a curiosity as you are not sure where one begins and the other ends and so it keeps the eye moving. The main subject I realise is the face of the person it is difficult to stop us looking at a person however I feel its adds to the image.
The next image again at a market. The object is the jewellery for sale and I liked the stand they were on the curved branches and the way the bracelet is wrapped around these curves and curved again its self causes our eye to go around the bracelet. This is the item we want to bring attention to its detail and so I feel the curves keep you going to that point to look.
The next image is an everyday image. I believe our eyes are brought around it by following the curves of the man and the helmets and then back again.
