In San Francisco last year. I somehow never wrote it up on my blog on a recent visit to Peter Lik (see link http://wp.me/p2dUJz-i1) another exceptional landscape photographer it brought it all back to me. I visited this photographer in San Francisco while working on my assignment three. I was particularly interested in colour at the time and here is an artist who uses it well.

The images are shot on large format slides and when you look at a large scale landscape you can see the detail of every leaf. It is quite breathtaking.
I am curious also as to his printing process as the images look as if they are lit from behind.
This is what I found on his website.
So I have tried to do some research into different paper that can have this effect on various forums. Here is what I hope to try out.
Fuji Pearl and Kodak Metallic. I will keep you posted when I manage to try these out. However lets not focus on the printing the magic of Rodneys images is the large format. The detail the patience needed to take these shots and a great mastery of his craft. I leave you with an image of his.
If you get a chance visit the Gallery as it is impossible to do justice of an original print.
